A Word From The Pastor
Dear Sherwood Family,
“I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.”
(1 Timothy 2:1)
As a result of Covid-19, the National Day of Prayer was one of the few events that we were able to take part in together in the spring of 2020, and it was a wonderful experience for all involved. We gathered in our church building’s front yard and prayed for our nation and for our world as we asked the Lord to show us His mercy and grace in the midst of a frightening pandemic. I believe that the Lord heard our many prayers, and He has been very good to us in the past year!
This year marks the 70th annual National Day of Prayer, and Sherwood will once again gather on this special day to pray for our neighbors, our families, our nation, and our world. The situation facing us in 2021 is still very serious, and we need to rely on prayer just as much as we did a year ago.
I hope that you will make plans to join with us on Thursday, May 6, at noon. If you are not able to join with us in person, please take time out of your day to pray from wherever you might be on that Thursday. The commands that Paul gave in the verse above are our marching orders!
Sherwood, let’s pray with urgency, live in faithfulness to God, and never stop building the Kingdom.
