A Word From The Pastor
Dear Sherwood Family,
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
A tremendous blessing that we have as Christians is that we can approach heartache, suffering, and even death itself with the hope that there is coming a day when Revelation 21:4 will be fulfilled. On that day, God himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes, as the hardships of this sin-stained world melt away. What a blessing!
But even though we believers have this blessed hope, we still live in a world which is fallen. We still deal with sicknesses, hardships, and death. And even though we know that death is a temporary separation for those who love Jesus, there is still grief which occurs.
One of the toughest times of the year for those grieving the death of a loved one is the holiday season. This year, Sherwood is providing a free, short seminar for anyone who needs help making it through the holidays. It is called “Surviving the Holidays,” and we will offer it twice during the week of Thanksgiving. The first class will meet on Sunday, November 20, at 4:00 pm. The same session will be offered again on Tuesday, November 22, at 10:30 am.
Please let Mike Hitchcock or me know if you have any questions.
Sherwood, let’s pray with urgency, live in faithfulness to God, and never stop building the Kingdom.
